Each noble house has a family motto which acts as their personal brand, communicating their authority across the land. In this episode, we explore the branding tactics among the houses as well as individual examples of persuasion.
Aristotle, a famous philosopher from thousands of years ago, wrote a rule book on the art of persuasion. This book, called Rhetoric, is still relevant as a means to understand the psychology of influence and leadership.
The three main tenets of persuasion are Pathos, Ethos, and Logos.
• Logos – The method of persuasion that uses evidence and reasoning to influence a conclusion.
• Pathos – The root word for Sympathy or Apathy, Pathos is an appeal to an emotional response. Ethos – Literally translates to “character”. It requires the ability to distinguish oneself as having strong credibility, morality, or wisdom. It shows that you are a person worth listening to.
