You know it’s TYG when, thanks to some technical difficulties, we end up having to post the first installment of our new occasional tabletop and boardgame series, Tabletop Thursday.
In this installment, we playtest the new Iron Kingdoms RPG by Privateer Press. As you’ll see in the video, we ended up liking the game quite a bit. We particularly liked it in comparison to D&D 4E, which most of us have also played.
We hope you enjoy the video, and stay tuned for more installments of Tabletop Thursday on random Thursdays in the future (or Fridays, as the case may be!).

I'm going to be Gm'ing for the first time this Saturday, if all goes as planned. We've had to push this game for like months because of multiple speed bumps in schedules, and I am super nervous about getting everything right. This is actually really helpful, thanks for putting this up!
so far you are the only guys to film your selves playing, that I can find.
so one thing that i have noticed is that you guys are doing wrong is giving an additional damage with comfermed crits; all the crit does is give you a feat point, secound is that you can only reroll a roll once and if you happen to fail SOL bud unless you guys are just making it more for you guys's play you shouldnt be showing a demo with the wrong rule
1 inch = 6 feet
Where did you guys get the playing mat? Good vid.
1 inch 5 feet? could be 2 yards. Depends on the scale your are aiming for. Not sure if this game uses feet or meters
Im not sayings its wrong, just what scale do you convert it to since they use measurements in the rules.
Using tiles is a lazy way to not need to use measuring tape. It's a fun vs practicality person opinion thing.
Sounds like Deathwatch as well imo. So tactical, I cannot see it possible to ignore all the positioning and numbers that were so detailed in the book.
d&d 4th ed, where positioning and distance is key in combat, yeah I disagree with you.
I finally got invited into a new Mk.2 IKRPG and I must say that I really enjoyed it. Especially being an ex-warmachine player. Now not so ex…I busted out my mini's again after 6 years and I got the 'fever" again..lol…so not so bad after all, but I am still a tad worried about the softer side of rpg's like the social aspects and stuff but that can be worked around tho…so all ended better than expected!
Added to note that I am however dismayed that this became a minatures based rpg. I dislike relying on mini's to play rpg's.
I think they are using proxy items to give us a look at gameplay.
I haven't played WM or IK since the "Prime rule set" or the D20 rpg version.
I'm gonna have to look at getting back into this, I really loved the IK world.
I thought this game was played with a measuring tape? Is their rules that convert it into squares.
